New Delhi, August 8: India has strongly condemned the act of terrorism in Cairo, the Egyptian capital, on Wednesday which claimed the lives of about 20 people earlier this week and has expressed its condolences to the victims’ families, according to ANI.

In an official statement, the Indian ministry of external affairs (MEA) said: “India strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Cairo on the night of 4-5 August 2019. We offer our deepest condolences to the bereaved families and wish a speedy recovery to those injured in the attack.”

MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar, in the statement, further added, “India stands in solidarity with the government and the people of the Arab Republic of Egypt in the fight against terrorism. The terror attack in Cairo is yet another reminder of the necessity for concerted action on the part of the International community to defeat the scourge of terrorism.”

On August 4th night, a car loaded with explosives collided with other three vehicles near the National Cancer Institute in the capital of Egypt, that claimed the lives of around 20 individuals and wounded around other 40 people.
