Osaka, June 28: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has on Friday held discussion with Mohammed bin Salman, the crown prince of Saudi Arabia, over several issues like energy security, counter-terrorism, and investment.

According to ANI news reports, the prime minister has met India’s “invaluable strategic partner” at the ongoing G20 summit in Osaka, Japan.

Ministry of external affairs (MEA) spokesperson Raveesh Kumar, in a tweet, said, “An invaluable strategic partner. PM @narendramodi met with Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud on the margins of the #G20. Discussed deepening cooperation in trade & investment, energy security, counter-terrorism, among other areas.”

Also, on his official Twitter handle, Modi said, “Met Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. We reviewed the full range of relations between India and Saudi Arabia. Our talks today will add great strength to bilateral ties between our nations.”

Modi is on an official three-day visit to Japan to attend the summit and is slated to hold nine bilateral meetings with the Group of 20 leaders.

He has also held a bilateral meeting with South Korean President Moon Jae-in. Modi and Moon agreed to bolster their efforts for cooperation between the two nations’ key diplomatic strategies aiming at widening their partnership.

MEA spokesperson tweeted: “A natural partnership strengthened by historical ties. On the margins of Summit PM @narendramodi had a good meeting with President of the Republic of Korea, @moonriver365. Expressed mutual desire to synergize our Act East Policy with South Korea’s New Southern Policy.”

During the meeting, both leaders expressed a common desire to synergizing South Korea’s New Southern Policy with India’s Act East Policy.
