Osaka, June 29: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a bilateral meeting on Saturday with Indonesian President Joko Widodo on the last day of the G20 summit in Osaka, Japan.

According to AIN news reports, during the meeting, Modi extended congratulations to Widodo over his victory for the straight second in the 2019 presidential elections. Both the leaders reviewed all aspects of India-Indonesia relations.

Modi said he was looking forward towards increasing people-to-people connections, maritime modicooperation and strong trade relations.

Modi took it to twitter and said, “Excellent meeting with President @jokowi, where we reviewed all aspects of India-Indonesia ties. Looking forward to increasing maritime cooperation, more trade and stronger people-to-people linkages with Indonesia.”

According to India’s external affair ministry’s spokesperson Raveesh Kumar, the prime minister had “a productive meeting” with the Indonesian president on the sidelines of the G20 summit. Both the leaders discussed ways to expanding cooperation in various sectors, including investment and trade, maritime, space, defence, and further exchanged views over Indo-Pacific vision.

Meanwhile, Widodo also shared messages for the Lok Sabha Elections 2019 victory for the straight second in the office.

After a while, Modi also held a bilateral meeting with Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro on the sidelines of the G20 summit.

MEA spokesperson said, “PM Narendra Modi and Brazilian President Jair held wide-ranging discussions on the bilateral relationship, especially cooperation in trade & investment, agriculture & bio-fuels in the context of climate change.”

Meanwhile, Modi also took it to Twitter and said he was happy to meet with Bolsonaro, adding both the sides are cooperating extensively and working together in several global forums.

Moreover, the prime minister is also slated to hold few more bilateral meetings with Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Modi is further likely to participate in leaders’ event on “women empowerment”.
