Biarritz, August 26: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday met with United States President Donald Trump on the margins of the Group of Seven (G7) summit, held in the French city of Biarritz.
Both Modi and Trump held discussions over a wide range of issues of mutual interest or national, global and regional, also including the pertaining situation in Kashmir, according to ANI news reports.
At the meeting, the US president said, “We spoke last night about Kashmir, Prime Minister really feels he has it under control. They speak with Pakistan and I’m sure that they will be able to do something that will be very good.”
Modi on Sunday met with United Nations secretary-general Antonio Guterres in France at G7 summit hosted by Biarritz city and discussed a wide range of issues.
The G7 summit holds significance from New Delhi’s view especially for the fact the Kashmir issue is likely to raise during Modi’s meeting with the leaders of the member nations, especially with US President Trump and the same has been conveyed from the Trump administration by a top-level American official.
Interestingly, India is not a part member of the G7 summit and France has extended the invitation to address the international summit in its city, Biarritz, according to ANI.
