Nepali Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has claimed on Tuesday his government has successfully managed to tackle with country’s decade-long Maoist conflict, who had grouped the Himalayan country for over a decade.

According to ANI news reports, while addressing the country on the occasion of the 69th Democracy Day in Tundikhel, the prime minister said: “As of now the conflict – conflict management is almost done. In the context of the conflict – conflict management, Nepal had adopted a substantive method. It took he ways forward with a commitment to resolve its’ own problem and this work have shown Nepal’s capability to solve its problem on its own. This also has increased Nepal’s prestige in the international arena.”

Oli’s government has signed a peace pact with the de-facto group in 2006 after which it had become a political party and has ruled over the nation with a formation of the government on different periods of time.

During the decade-long conflict, about 13,000 people had reportedly lost their lives, whereas around 1,300 people are still reported missing along with many complaints and several reports of mass violation of human rights.

Nepali government has also formed a commission in order to investigate into the complaints and reports, however, very less progress has been yet made or seen so far, while also drawing the attention of international community.

Recently, the missions, diplomatic, have called for fair, free and timely address of all the issues.
