The United States intelligence committee has found no direct proof or evidence of a conspiracy between Russia and the US President Donald Trump meddling the 2016 US presidential election.
According to Sputnik news reports, the bipartisan committee, which entered the end of its investigation into the conspiracy, has found no direct proof that Trump had formed a corrupt pact with the Russian government to offer favourable treatments and sanctions relief in return for Russian meddling into 2016 election campaign, NBC news has reported while citing both the US Senates – Democrats and Republicans – on the committee.
While the intelligence committee has found no proof, Democrats said the series of contacts between associates of Trump, also including children, and several Russians suggested that a campaign was willing to accept the offer of help from a foreign adversary, the report alleged.
Before the presidential inauguration in January 2017, according to reports, Trump and his associates had more than about 100 contacts with Russians.
The ongoing probe by special counsel Robert Mueller into alleged Russia’s meddling during the 2016 US presidential election has not unearthed any proof that would show Trump of collusion with Russians.
However, previously too, Trump has dismissed such allegation and accusations levelled against him by Mueller and also denied Mueller’s investigation calling it a “witch hunt” that has produce no evidence or proof since last two years. In fact, Russia has also repeatedly denied intervening into US election.
