Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed, Pakistan Railway minister, has opposed the return of the Indian pilot wing commander Abhinandan Varthaman, expressing fear of offensive actions from the Indian side once Varthaman is sent back.

According to ANI news reports, during delivering a speech in Pakistan parliament, the Awami Muslim League chief Ahmed admitted that Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terror outfit has its camp in Jabba in Pakistan’s province of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa region.

While addressing a joint session of Pakistan parliament on “Indian Aggression”, he said. “During (former Prime Minister) Vajpayee’s time this was not the situation. (Prime Minister Narendra) Modi has different thinking. People say Modi planned this attack keeping in view the Lok Sabha elections. What if India attacks us again after we hand over to them the IAF pilot. I want to tell you, Modi is sitting there. What if he attacks tomorrow. Every Muslim residing in India is looking towards Pakistan.”

Top sources reported on Thursday India used military and diplomatic pressure to ensure that Pakistan government releases Indian pilot wing commander Abhinandan Varthaman soon after Pak’s Prime Minister Imran Khan announced yesterday that they will release him tomorrow if it leads to peace.

Sources said Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had made no compromises over the Pakistani proposal for holding dialogues.

It added India has mounted pressure over Pakistan through the international community, with Indian national security advisor Ajit Doval holding dialogues with the United States along with other P-5 countries.
