For the first time, the Pakistan has on Tuesday, acknowledged and considered India has stakes in the country Afghanistan and in the peace process for Afghanistan, India’s cooperation is much needed as alone Pakistan could not help in bringing peace over the war-torn country – Afghanistan.

According to news reports, while addressing and speaking at the national assembly on Monday, Pakistan’s foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that alone by itself, Pakistan could not bring peace in war-torn country as it is a “shared responsibility” of the regional countries.

According to the reports presented by news media, Mehmood Qureshi was quoted as saying, “Prime Minister Imran Khan had said that peace could not be established in Afghanistan through military power. Today the US, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Taliban also wanted a solution through dialogue.”

Mehmood Qureshi further said, “Some meetings have taken place [among key stakeholders] for establishment of peace in Afghanistan. India also has stakes in Afghanistan and its cooperation will also be needed.”

The United States has red flagged the indication that it palns to provide a role to India for peace process in Afghanistan, but however, Pakistan’s stance from the previous years has indicated its clearance that India had no role regarding to play for peace process in Afghanistan.

Pakistan does recognized the development contributions made by India in Afghanistan as a part of India’s capital New Delhi’s strategic policies.

Qureshi said that US President Donald Trump wrote an official letter to Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan seeking for Pakistan’s help and association with the peace process in Afghanistan.
