Washington DC, June 8: The US state department has said on Friday secretary of state Mike Pompeo is scheduled to attend the US-India Business Council-led (USIBC) “India Ideas Summit” on Wednesday in Washington DC at the US chamber of commerce.
The state department said, “Secretary of State Michael R. Pompeo will deliver the keynote address on ‘The US and India: An Economic Foundation for a Free and Open Indo-Pacific’ at the US-India Business Council’s India Ideas Summit on Wednesday, June 12, at 4:00 p.m. at the US Chamber of Commerce in Washington DC.”
It further added Pompeo’s remarks will be followed by a fireside chat with CEO and President of Tellurian, Inc. Meg Gentle, according to ANI news reports.
The two-day India Ideas conference 2019 is organized by the USIBC (US-India Business Council) is slated to kick off on June 12. This is a stage to convene think tanks, diplomats, practitioners, and scholars for a top-level discussion over the key issues of India.
Next week, the USIBC-organized India Ideas summit will mark the 44th annual conference. The state department has also stated the summit will be streamed live over the website of the United States chamber.
