Prince Albert II, head of state of Monaco, has met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday in New Delhi and held talks over enhancing two countries bilateral cooperation in several key areas such as renewable energy, climate change, and environment. Prince Albert has also attended the India-Monaco Business Forum on Monday.

According to ANI news reports, Prince Albert, who is on a week-long Indian tour, arrived New Delhi on Monday, accompanied by high-level delegations, also met at the Hyderabad House for an official photo session before heading for bilateral talks bolstering ties between the two nations.

While taking it to Twitter, the ministry of external affairs spokesperson Raveesh Kumar tweeted: “Harnessing mutual strength PM @narendramodi met HSH Prince Albert II of #Monaco. Good exchange of views on enhancing cooperation, especially in environment & climate change and renewable energy through sharing best practices.”

Earlier the same day, external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj called on Prince Albert and discussed the possible opportunities for their cooperation in key areas, especially renewable energy, smart cities, people-to-people contacts, tourism, marine ecosystems, investment in India and also the environment, said Kumar.

Prince Albert also called on Indian President Ram Nath Kovind at Rashtrapati Bhawan. Kovind hosted lunch in his honour.

President of India, taking it to Twitter, wrote: “Prince Albert II of Monaco called on President Kovind at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The President hosted a lunch in his honour. The Prince planted the “Princess Grace Rose” in the Mughal Gardens, in memory of his late mother.”

Monaco and India established their diplomatic ties in 2007, MEA has said while tweeting. Prince will leave for home on February 10, after the conclusion of his official engagements.
