Pakistan’s foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, who is on a three-day official visit to China, has arrived in Beijing on Monday to attend the very-first China-Pakistan foreign ministers’ strategic talks.

According to Dawn news reports, Qureshi was received by Yao Jing, Chinese ambassador to Pakistan, and Masood Khalid, Pak’s envoy to China, along with other Pak’s embassy officials.

In a tweet, the government of Pakistan said: “Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has arrived in Beijing on a three-day visit to China. At the airport, he was received by Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing, Pakistani Ambassador in Beijing Masood Khalid and senior officials of the Pakistani embassy.”

During his visit to China, both the countries will hold various comprehensive discussions over the entire range of the bilateral ties, also including the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Both the sides are slated to hold discussions related to their main interest in the regional situations as well as cooperation between two nations at the multilateral level.

The foreign minister is also scheduled to address the political parties forum over the CPEC programme and participate in the ruling parties’ discussions between the Communist Party of China and the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf.

Later, Qureshi will also call on China’s President Xi Jinping.
