New Delhi, August 29: India’s National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval has on Thursday held a bilateral meeting with Emmanuel Bonne, the French NSA, in New Delhi and discussed the handover plans of first Rafale fighter jets in September.

Both leaders met a few days after French President Emmanuel Macron held a bilateral meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the G7 summit held in a French city of Biarritz.

During the recent meeting, Doval and Bonne confirmed the first delivery of the Rafale fighter jet to India will proceed in September, according to ANI news reports.

IAF air chief marshal BS Dhanao and defence minister Rajnath Singh are slated to receive the very first arrival of French company Dassault Aviation manufactured Rafale fighter jet on September 20.

The officials in New Delhi have stated the Indian Rafale planes was enough advanced than those which were operational with the French Air Force that it should remain in place for training sessions for Indian pilots till May 2020.
