Robert “Beto” O’Rourke, the former Texas congressman, has on Thursday officially announced his bid running for the 2020 US presidential election against the United States President Donald Trump.

According to BBC news reports, the Democratic leader has told a TV station that he would join the race of presidential election to surpass Trump next year.

Robert, 46-year-old, is the 15th democrat to announced his bid for the 2020 White House.

He joins a growing roster of people vying for the Democratic nomination – including senators Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris, Amy Klobuchar and Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg to name but a few.

In a text message to a local TV station named KTSM, Robert said, “It’s a big part of why I’m running. This city is the best example of this country at its best.”

He is expected to declare his formal announcement via social media on Thursday before appearing in Iowa, the key state in early part of an election campaign.
