Russia foreign minister Sergei Lavrov has on Tuesday, said Moscow vowed to deliver every possible effort to support Venezuela’s legitimate authority and its critical political crisis.

According to Russia’ Lavrov, the opposition in the country (Venezuela) has been highly influenced by international forces, such as the United States, and since prohibited from international assistance to the Venezuelan government.

According to Sputnik news reports, Lavrov on Tuesday said, “The United States and its closest allies are creating the most serious obstacles to the possibility of international assistance in resolving the crisis in Venezuela.”

The foreign minister stressed that Russia would do anything in its power to aid and support the Caracas’s lawful authorities. Lavrov also noted that the calls for the open intervention in Venezuela were surging in the US when addressing a piece of recent interview news about the White House national security advisor John Bolton holding a “5,000 troops to Colombia” note.

Earlier, Bolton was photographed with some yellow notepad that has raised questions over the White House’s alleged plans to deploy American troops to Colombia, neighbor to Venezuela.

While addressing the “cynical sanctions” which was imposed by the US on Venezuelan PDVSA company, Lavrov stressed that this move shall further lead to the deterioration of international financial system and provoke disputes and conflicts in Venezuela.

Lavrov stated: “The US, unfortunately, has experience in such illegitimate handling of other’s money. Such freezing was applied at one time to Iraq, Libya, Iran, Cuba, Nicaragua, and Panama. In most cases, this freezing essentially resulted in the confiscation of assets from another government. The British authorities are doing the same thing now by arresting, and in fact confiscating, the gold reserves of Venezuela, which are stored in London.”

He added that the US companies which are operating in Venezuela have been excluded from the sanctioned regime, stressing that the US was seeking to overthrow the government and gain profits in the country.
