Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman attends a session of the Shura Council in Riyadh

Jeddah, May 24: Saudi Arabia crown prince Mohammed bin Salman on Thursday met with the Sudanese Transitional Military Council (TMC) deputy head in Saudi province of Jeddah.

According to Sputnik news reports, the meeting between Sudanese TMC deputy head Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, also known as Hemedti, and Saudi’s crown prince, also known as MbS, has taken place in Saudi’s city of Jeddah on Thursday.

During the meeting, both the leaders discussed cooperations between the two sides, the Saudi Press Agency was cited by Reuters as saying.

Saudi Arabia has earlier voiced its support for Sudan’s military council and its leader’s measures to tackle and stabilize the revolutionary-torn nation, after the TMC forces ex-Sudan President Omar al-Bashir to step down and leave the office, after months of mass street protest in the nation against Bashir’s 35-year power.

Saudi Arabia, at the time, announced it was delivering humanitarian aid packages to Sudan which includes medicine, petroleum products, and food. As per Saudi Press Agency, Saudi has backed and supported the TMC’s vision for the future of Sudan, and hopes those measures would lead to a better secured and stabilized nation.

The Sudanese main protesting group, including civilians, and the TMC  has on May 15 reached a final agreement on a three-year transitional period in the nation. Although, the meetings for negotiations were slated to resume on May 16, the TMC announced it had changed its minds and decided to take a three-day break in dialogues.
