Saudi Arabia has announced on Wednesday it will host the G20 summit in its capital, Riyadh, in November 2020. This would be the first time when the G20 summit will be held in the Arab world.

According to ANI news reports, Saudi Arabia announcement has come as Japan was preparing to host this year’s G20 summit in June end in Osaka.

Last year’s summit was held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where Saudi Arabia was represented by crown prince Mohammed bin Salman. Also, the crown prince, also known as MBS, held various engagements with the world leaders, including holding a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Saudi will be hosting the 15th annual G20 leaders’ summit in 2020 on November 21 and 22, Saudi state-run SPA press agency reported.

“Saudi Arabia is fully committed to the G20’s objectives and to the stability and prosperity of the international economic system,” the agency said.

The G20 in 2018 was the 13 meeting of the group of twenty, which was held on 30 November and 1 December. It marked the first-ever G20 summit hosted in South America
