Senator Amy Klobuchar from Minnesota has on Monday announced her bid running for US 2020 presidential election against the United States President Donald Trump.

According to BBC news reports, Klobuchar, a former prosecutor, said she was running for “everyone who wanted their work recognized”. During her recent confirmation hearings, she also won praises for grilling attorney general candidate William Barr and Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

While launching her campaign, Klobuchar called on citizens to join her “home-grown” campaign with a saying that “I don’t have a political machine. I don’t come from money. But what I do have is this: I have grit.”

Till now, a total of five women have entered the race for the presidential bid, which includes Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren, Kirsten Gillibrand and Tulsi Gabbard.

Warren, on her very-first presidential campaign, told her supporters: “By the time we get to 2020, Donald Trump may not even be president. In fact, he may not even be a free person.”

After her speech, Klobuchar told NBC News: “I have high expectations for the people that work for me, but I have high expectations for this country.”
