Taipei, Sep 30: Typhoon Mitag is expected to make a landfall in Taiwan on Monday post afternoon, following which the authorities have directed the closure of schools and offices in 13 Taiwan nations, according to local media reports.

At around 8 am this morning, Typhoon Mitag was found 370 kilometers south-southeast of Yilan County and traveling towards north-northwest at a speed of 27 kilometers for every hour (kph).

Tropical storm Mitag was packing maximum sustained breezes of 126 kilometers for every hour, with whirlwinds to 162 kph. The sweep of the tempest that contains level 7 breezes on the Beaufort scale is 180 kilometers, while the range of tempest pressing level 10 breezes is 60 kilometers.

During this period, substantial precipitation will be conceivable in more prominent Taipei, Yilan, and bumpy zones of Taichung and Hualien. In the meantime, central and southern Taiwan are probably going to see generally lighter precipitation.

The CWB has issued land and sea warnings for New Taipei City, Taipei City, Taoyuan City, Miaoli County, Taichung City, Keelung City, Yilan County, Hsinchu County, Hsinchu City, Hualien County, Nantou County, Lienchiang County, and Taitung County (including Orchid Island and Green Island)

The weather bureau has issued an “extremely” torrential rain warning for Taipei City, Miaoli County, Taichung City, Keelung City, Hsinchu County, and Hualien County. The CWB has announced a heavy rain warning for Hsinchu City, Nantou County, Taitung County, Chiayi County, and Kaohsiung City.
