Kabul, August 7: The Taliban has claimed the responsibility of the large bombing attack on Wednesday outside a police station in Afghanistan’s capital, Kabul.

The Afghanistan government officials said the car bomb explosion has wounded at least 100 individuals, according to Reuters news reports.

The blast went off during the early morning hours in the west of the suburb which sent a huge form of dark cloud billowing into the sky.

The Taliban claimed one of its suicide bombers had attacked a “recruitment centre” in Kabul.

In a statement, the Taliban said, “A large number of soldiers and police were killed or wounded.”

The bombardment went off when a vehicle, car, stopped at a checkpoint near the police station, according to Afghan interior ministry spokesperson Nasrat Rahimi.

A spokesperson for the health ministry also said at least 95 people were found wounded and had been taken to the hospitals. Most of the wounded people were civilians, including children and women, he said.
