United States President Donald Trump has on Thursday accused backers of special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation of trying to invalidate the 2016 US presidential election and attempting “illegally” regain power.

At his first political speech at the rally after the conclusion of Mueller’s investigation report over Russia meddling into 2016 Trump’s election campaign, Trump called his opponents “losers” declaring the nation was “hurt” by the probe. He also celebrated the fact that Mueller’s probe has come to an end, according to Reuters news reports.

At a Grand Rapids arena, Trump said, “After three years of lies and smears and slander, the Russia hoax is finally dead. The collusion delusion is over.”

Trump said, “The Russia witch hunt was a plan by those who lost the election to try and illegally regain power by framing innocent Americans – many of them, they suffered – with an elaborate hoax.”

He said, “These are sick people and there has to be accountability because it’s all lies and they know it’s lies.”

As Trump railed at his opponents, thousands of his supporters wearing red “Make America Great Again” caps cheered him.

United States attorney general William Barr was planning to issue a public version of special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into Russia‘ interference into Trump’s 2016 presidential election campaign within “weeks, not months”, a US justice department official said on Tuesday.

Barr has released his own version of a summary of the Mueller’s probe reports on Sunday but has said he needed additional time to review his summary to further determine what could be publically released, according to Reuters news reports.
