United States President Donald Trump has said on Friday that he was seriously considering to move arrested illegal migrants to the sanctuary cities that opposed to his immigration policies.

According to TOI news reports, the US president’s announcement via Twitter reversed earlier assurance by the White House that the idea had been dropped – which has faced condemnation as political retribution against those cities led by opposed Democrats.

In a tweet, Trump stated: “Due to the fact that Democrats are unwilling to change our very dangerous immigration laws, we are indeed, as reported, giving strong considerations to placing Illegal Immigrants in Sanctuary Cities.”

He continued tweeting: “The Radical Left always seems to have an Open Borders, Open Arms policy — so this should make them very happy!”

The Washington Post had earlier revealed such proposal, which would ink the new flashpoint in the growing political divide over migration flow.

A White House statement had stated: “This was just a suggestion that was floated and rejected, which ended any further discussion.”

Trump staked his post over his insistence that the country is being overrun by illegal migrants and asylum seekers. But however, Democrats are pressing for construction of a border wall at the border along with the Mexican border.

In response to reporters, Trump has said he wanted the US Congress to make tough visas as well as streamline deportation process.

Otherwise, he warned, “If they don’t agree we might as well do what they say they want … We’ll bring them to sanctuary city areas and let that particular area take care of it. We can give them an unlimited supply.”

Sanctuary cities are the places where the local authorities that limit their cooperation with the national government’s efforts to enforce immigration law and which refused to hand over any undocumented immigrants for deportation.
