Washington DC, July 30: United States President Donald Trump has on Monday inked the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund bill into legislation in order to provide healthcare facilities to all victims – firefighters, the police officers, and several other first responders- to the September 11, 2001, terrorist attack.

According to ANI news reports, Trump was on Monday joined by over 200 individuals who were affected by the 9/11 deadly terror attacks, including more than 60 1st responders, during the Rose Garden ceremony at the White House.

Calling the bill’s extension “a sacred duty”, the US president said, “Today we come together as one nation to support our September 11th heroes to care for their families and to renew our eternal vow – never ever forget.”

He further added, “The love and loyalty of our 9/11 responders knew no bounds. They answered terror with the emotional strength of true American warriors.”

Addressing the 9/11 first responders and their natives crowd, Trump said he was also at the Ground Zero in the wake of 9/11 terror attacks, though he stated he doesn’t consider himself as a first responder.

Trump said, “I was down there also, but I’m not considering myself a first responder,” further adding, “But I was down there. I spent a lot of time down there with you.”

This development finally put an end to the 15-year spat to get the administration to permanently offer compensation to the first responders, as well as, other victims, sickened by toxic aroma in the weeks following the 9/11 terror attacks.

According to The New York Post, the bill was already cleared on July 12 by the US House of Representatives.

In addition, the extension of the bill would ensure compensation for the individuals wounded during the 2001 attacks and in the aftermath trying rescuing individuals and further defusing debris under the hazardous conditions.

The fund was scheduled in 2020 to get expired. But however, the newly inked law into the bill will ensure compensation for victims until 2090.
