The United States President Donald Trump has held talks with Vietnamese President Nguyen Phu Trong on Wednesday and thanked Vietnam president’s leadership for agreeing and allowing to host his second summit with his North Korean counterpart Kim Jong-Un scheduled on Wednesday and Thursday.

According to ANI news reports, while interacting with media after his meeting with Trong, Trump promoted an idea of a prosperous N Korea by citing a “good example” of Communist Vietnam.

CNN has quoted Trump as saying: “We (Trump and Kim) both felt very good about having this very important summit in Vietnam because you really are a good example of what can happen.”

Trump also said he is “very proud” of what the country had accomplished economically. He later met with Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

In a tweet, the US president wrote: “Vietnam is thriving like few places on earth. North Korea would be the same, and very quickly if it would denuclearize. The potential is AWESOME, a great opportunity, like almost none other in history, for my friend Kim Jong Un. We will know fairly soon – Very Interesting!”

Earlier, the Vietnam prime minister has urged to both the US and North Korea to reach an agreement for the “peace of the world”.

In an exclusive interview, Phuc told CNN: “For the peace of the world, for a connected and developed world, let’s shake hands. We shall develop together and contribute to global stability.”
