Jeremy Corbyn No-Deal Brexit priority

Britain, June 19: United Kingdom (UK) opposition head Jeremy Corbyn is expected to back a move for the Labour Party on Wednesday to change its Brexit policies and also back a second referendum on Brexit in all circumstances, according to The Times which cited a senior Labour source.

According to Reuters news reports, Andrew Fisher, head of policy’s paper by Corbyn, recommended Labour Party backs a second referendum over any deal negotiated with the European Union (EU), adding most of the shadow cabinet members are due to see the paper.

On Wednesday, the shadow cabinet will hold discussions related to the plan to make the Labour Party’s stance decisively pro-remain, the newspaper reported.

Labour, including the Conservatives, has seen its support digging at the European Union elections as the voters expressed their deep sorrow and frustration over Brexit deadlock, was divided over whether or not to back holding a second referendum unequivocally.

However, so far, Corbyn has stated the option of another Brexit public vote should be considered on the table, alongside a national election. Further, the prospect still poses a dilemma because many of supporter of the Labour party have backed Brexit.

Last month, Corbyn has vowed to back a second referendum on Brexit deal after he came under an overwhelming pressure to cease the departure of its remaining voters who have supported pro-EU political parties at the European Parliamentary elections.

Corbyn said his Labour Party’s preference would be to hold a general election and if any Brexit deal, it “has to be put to a public vote”. According to several Labour sources, the development was a shift from the previous status that a second vote on Brexit was being taken as an option to halt a damaging Tory Brexit.
