Following their last week’s meeting in Beijing, China and the United States kicked off their ninth round of trade talks on Wednesday in an effort to reach closer to a trade agreement in order to put an end to both countries’ trade dispute.

According to ANI news reports, the US tariffs on Chinese goods continue to pose a challenge to the final deal. While China seeks the US to remove the tariffs, Washington has said the cess will continue to remain in place until China completely adhere to the deal.

China has reportedly proposed to impose additional American farm products during the eighth round of trade talks in Beijing held last week. US treasury secretary Steven Mnuchin has led the team of US delegation in Beijing, which Liu He, China’s premier, has led the Chinese delegation.

Both the US and China are engaged in the intense trade negotiations amid the trade dispute between both the sides that would have originally view the US substantively hike tariffs on the Chinese goods from March 1.

The US President Donald Trump has since declared the extension of the March 1 deadline as trade talks between the two sides have been progressed.

According to officials, both the sides are trying to reach a final deal which they will ink during an April summit scheduled to take place in Mar-a-Lago in Florida.
