Washington DC, Sep 13: The United States has raised its worries with Gulf partners over a conceivable security hazard in utilizing Huawei’s innovation – China’s largest telecom giant brand, for their next-generation 5G portable infrastructure, US authorities have said on Thursday.

Washington has been cautioning its allies against using the Chinese organization’s hardware, which it says shows a security risk, yet has so far has, to a great extent, made open suggestions to European states, according to Dawn news reports.

Huawei has more than once denied the US allegations, which were raised a week ago during a visit by Federal Communications Commission Chair Ajit Pai to Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Bahrain, which are all utilizing its telecom equipment.

“We shared a … message about the importance of securing 5G technology and applying risk based security principles,” Robert Strayer, the US State Department’s deputy assistant secretary for cyber, international communications and information policy has said on Thursday.

Washington says Huawei could be abused by Beijing and has taken steps to cut off insight offering to countries that utilization its gear. China and Huawei deny the cases.

“We think that when you apply a security based framework, one would end up excluding Huawei from deployments of 5G,” said Strayer.

In March, Bahrain’s Telecommunications Minister Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed had told Reuters Huawei had met the standards presented by the Gulf states and that it contain no concerns forward.
