The United States and India have jointly appeal to Pakistan to take strong, verifiable and irreversible action against terror outfits operating from its soil.

On the sidelines of the sixteenth meeting of the US-India counterterrorism joint working group and the second session of the US-India designations dialogues, the US and Indian officials have met on March 29 in Washington DC.

According to ANI news reports, during their counterterrorism meeting, the group has exchanged common views over the threats posed by international terrorism outfits and an ongoing cross-border dispute between India and Pakistan.

In an official statement, the US state department said, “Both sides underlined the urgent need for Pakistan to take meaningful, irreversible, and verifiable action against terrorists and terrorist groups. There was a discussion of strengthening cooperation on information sharing and other steps to disrupt the ability of terrorists to travel, consistent with the important provisions and obligations outlined in United Nations Security Council Resolution 2396.”

According to the department’s statement, Washington has welcomed New Delhi’s attendees in foreign efforts countering terrorism and their financing, as well as both sides, shared details about their priorities and pursuing ban over designated global terrorist and outfits.

State department coordination for counterterrorism ambassador Nathan A Sales emphasized America’s support for the Indian government and its people in fighting terrorism.

India has yesterday, extended its full support to the United Nations security council resolution against the financing of terrorism linking the FATF and UN.
