The United States national security advisor John Bolton is likely to pay a visit to South Korea on Sunday ahead of the President Donald Trump’s second summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un in Vietnam on February last week.

According to NHK news reports, Bolton will hold a meeting with his South Korean and Japanese counterpart, ahead of Trump-Kim scheduled summit next week.

According to South Korean and the US sources, Bolton will pay a visit to Busan in S Korea on Sunday. He will be meeting with the head of the Japanese national security council secretariat Shotaro Yachi, as well as South Korean national security office chief Chung Eui-yong.

All the three officials are expected to confirm the close coordination of their stances ahead of Trump-Kim summit. The American government has also hinted that the nation may be ready to support and assist with North Korean economic development if the N Korea commits to full denuclearization.

All three of them are likely to discuss the process to bring down the denuclearization of North peninsula.

Also, Japan’s Yachi is expected to seek the cooperation from Washington over resolving the issue of North Korea’s abduction of people of Japan (Japan’s nationals).

After the meeting between the countries’ officials, Bolton will head to Hanoi for the scheduled Trump-Kim summit.
