The US Administration has managed to ink a deal with Honduras who will now accept the migrants who have been trying to get into the United States.

This comes after the address of US President Donald Trump to the United Nations General Assembly, the president had made it clear that it would not allow any undocumented and illegal immigrant inside the US.

Currently, the Central American countries have a major issue of damage control following the scores of people who had left on their way to the United States. The countries have been riddled with violence and corruption which had led these people to leave in the first place.

According to the agreement, Honduras would be a ”third-safe country” for the immigrants, which means that they will have to first apply for asylum in Honduras first before applying in the United States.

Similar agreements have been signed by Guatemala and El Salvador. The migrants would be hosted by these countries until their asylum applications are being processed. Yet, being put up in countries is a far greater risk as they do not have the capital or the infrastructure to keep them.

The failure to provide them with a safe environment was one of the core reasons why the migrations to the United States border happened. The United States has kept its security forces near the border to ensure that its borders are secured. Exerting pressure on the Mexican authorities to protect the US from the flow of migrants, leading the Mexican forces to protect their borders near Guatemala.
