United States treasury secretary Steven Mnuchin and trade representative Robert Lighthizer are slated to pay an official visit to China to hold trade dialogues, scheduled to kick off on April 30, the White House reported on Tuesday.

According to Sputnik news reports, in a statement, the White House said China’s vice premier Liu He, who leads the Chinese delegation for trade talks, is also scheduled to visit Washington DC for further trade discussions ahead on May 8.

The White House’s statement, cited by Reuters, read: “The subjects of next week’s discussions will cover trade issues including intellectual property, forced technology transfer, non-tariff barriers, agriculture, services, purchases, and enforcement.”

The US tariffs on Chinese goods continue to pose a challenge to the final deal. While China seeks the US to remove the tariffs, Washington has said the cess will continue to remain in place until China completely adhere to the deal.

Both the US and China are engaged in the intense trade negotiations amid the trade dispute between both the sides that would have originally view the US substantively hike tariffs on the Chinese goods from March 1.
