Foreign Secretary Vijay Keshav Gokhale on November 21, said that extending hands with Bhutan country should be a priority for India.

Gokhale, who is on three-day-visit to Bhutan from November 18 to November 21, said that based on Bhutan’s Royal Government priorities, if expanding its relations and unique ties with Bhutan, India could attach the highest priority further.

Gokhale met Ambassador Sonam Tshong and Bhutan Foreign Secretary during his visit to Bhutan. Also, he addressed Bhutan Prime Minister Lyonchhen Dr. Lotay Tshering and Foreign Minister Lyonpo Dr. Tandi Dorji, including the King of Bhutan Majesty Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and the fourth king of Bhutan Majesty Jigme Singye Wangchuck.

Including development topics regarding economic and Hydro-power co-operation, and high level exchanges, India and Bhutan both discussed about all aspects of bilateral relations. Also, they shared their views related to regional matters and issues related to mutual interests.
