White House press secretary Sarah Sanders resigns

Washington DC, June 15: White House press secretary Sarah Sanders stepped down from her post, United States President Donald Trump has announced.

According to BBC news reports, Trump, praising Sanders as a “warrior”, said she would travel back to her home state of Arkansas during the end of July.

Sanders, the latest senior White House official to resign, stated her role had been the “honour of a lifetime”. During her combative tenure, her credibility was pointed out and questioned that saw media briefings all but downgraded to a thing of the past.

The press secretary defeated Sean Spicer and replaced her at the top post in July 2017, then she kicked off her tenure as deputy press secretary.

Sanders has been a loyal mouthpiece, famously saying God “wanted Donald Trump to become president”.

At the White House, Trump has on Thursday described Sanders as “a special person, a very, very fine woman”. “She’s a warrior, we’re all warriors, we have to be warriors,” Trump added

.In a quavering voice, She said: “This is something I will treasure forever. I’m going to continue to be one of the most outspoken and loyal supporters of the president.”
