Islamabad, June 3: Yousef Aldobeay, a Saudi Arabian national, has been appointed as a special representative for Jammu and Kashmir by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

According to ANI news reports, the appointment was made on Friday during the 14th OIC summit held in Saudi Arabian holy city of Makkah, which was overwhelmingly attended by various leaders of Muslim nations, including Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan, Islamabad’s foreign ministry said on Saturday.

The summit also reiterated the forum’s principles back for the legitimate right to self-determination of the citizens of Jammu and Kashmir in line with the United Nations (UN) resolutions.

The OIC summit has called for the acknowledgment of a comprehensive strategy in order to combat Islamophobia, establishing on proposals by Pakistan during the March 2019 OIC ministerial executive committee.

Addressing the summit, PM Khan has expressed Islamabad’s views over the situation of Islamophobia, Palestine, Kashmir and the for innovation, technology, and science for Muslim nations.

The OIC is comprised of a 57-country grouping which claims to be the summoned voice of Muslims across the globe.

One of its aim objective to pres4erve Islamic social and economic values, upholding international security and peace. But however, some critics use to say it lacks actual time engagement and solution for Muslim nations in crisis.
