After the success of ‘Simmba‘ and ‘Padmaavat‘, Ranveer Singh‘s upcoming film ‘Gully Boy‘ is all set to rule the 2019 Box-office charts. With his next movie, Ranveer will debut as a Rapper in the film industry.
The film is based on real-life personalities of Vivian Fernandes aka Divine and Naved Shaikh aka Naezy known for their song “Mere Gully Mein” in Mumbai. The film explores the journey of a rapper who comes across his love and passion for rapping and then starts chasing his dream. It’s a real story gully gang boys.
‘Apna Time Ayega’ is a song from Ranveer’s upcoming film ‘Gully Boy’ which is ruling the charts across all the streaming platforms in India. Ranveer has lent his voice in this song which is currently number one in India.
Ranveer says, “It is truly gratifying to be accepted as a hip-hop artiste. I was thrilled to be in Zoya’s film as I had always wanted to do such a movie. I have got a natural, inborn affinity towards hip-hop. I loved this genre of music since I was a kid and I would have been heartbroken if I didn’t do this movie. I would like to believe that I have given my heart and soul to it and I hope audiences love ‘Gully Boy’. It’s also incredible that Zoya decided that I should sing in the album. It was definitely a challenge and I’m happy that people are liking the music. It’s an extremely personal, emotional and a special moment for me in my cinematic journey.”
The musical drama film is written and directed by Zoya Akhtar. It is being bankrolled by Zoya Akhtar’s Tiger Baby and Excel Entertainment productions.
Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, and Kalki Koechlin starrer ‘Gully Boy’ had its world premiere at the 69th Berlin International Film Festival and received a super positive response from the critics and audience.
The film will release in India on February 14, 2019.
