According to the Financial Times London’s Global MBA Ranking 2018, Indian School of Business, Hyderabad tops Business School Rankings in India and places itself as the 28th best business school globally.

Each year sees millions of Indian students appear for CAT (Common Aptitude Test) to enroll in the management institute’s in India with IIM Ahmedabad being the most coveted as it also offers an MBA to freshly graduates and ISB Hyderabad offering MBA to persons with work experience.

This years global ranking comes off as a bit of a disappointment as ISB, which was ranked the 27th best globally in the list of 2017 dropped down to 28 this year and IIM Ahmedabad, which ranked the 29th best globally in the list of 2017 dropped down to 31 this year. However, IIM Bangalore and IIM Calcutta improved their rankings considerably. With IIM Bangalore moving up to the 35th place this year from 49th last year and IIM Calcutta moving up to the 78th place this year from 95th last year.

The global ranking according to the Financial Times London Survey is dependent of 20 different criteria, together contributing to 59 percent of its weight. the other 11 percent is calculated from school data and the rest of the 31 percent is  calculated from accounting, the research rank also carries 10 percent. Information regarding the faculty, newly enrolled students and latest graduating class also form part of the criteria in the rankings.

Stanford Graduate School topped this years rankings and was followed by Insead, University of Pennsylvania: Wharton, London Business School, Harvard Business School, University of Chicago: Booth, Columbia Business School, Ceibs, MIT: Sloan and University of California at Berkeley:haas.

Rajendra Srivastava, Dean Indian School of Business, Hyderabad has said that they will continue to focus on providing world class education whle steadily investing in faculty, reseach centres and institutes.
