After the resignation of Rakesh Sarna from the post of CEO & MD, Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has started to look out for the successor. Although no name has been finalised yet, reports suggest that the front runners for the top post in IHCL include Mukund Rajan and Abhijit Mukerji. IHCL runs Taj Group of Hotels.
Other named which are said to be in consideration include Zubin Dubash and Ajoy Misr. Rakesh Sarna had resigned form his post of MD & CEO last week for a few personal reasons, however, he will continue to be on the post till 30th September. Sarna was appointed by former Tata Sons head, Cyrus Mistry in 2014.
According to sources, the appointment might consider candidates who are well aware of the Indian hospitality space. Recently, IHCL had also announced that it is working on bringing various brands under one. According to a recent statement, Vivanta By Taj and Gateway brands will be included under Taj before the end of 2017.
