MINI India has recently introduced the 3-door, MINI Paddy Hopkirk Edition hatchback in India at Rs.41.70 Lakh onwards (ex-showroom). Meanwhile, the best part about this limited edition car is that only 15 units will be available for sale in India. The carmaker with its launch pays tribute to the legendary rally driver Patrick “Paddy” Hopkirk.
Features
Imagine the MINI Paddy Hopkirk Edition to be a modern interpretation of the Red Cooper S that was used at the Monte Carlo Rally. Meanwhile, the driver of that Cooper S was none other than Sir Paddy Hopkirk. The all-new limited edition hatchback offers it customers the signature kidney grille, 16-inch alloy wheels, 37 sticker on both the sides and some chrome black elements for a sportier look.
Further, inside the cabin, there is a Panorama glass roof, reverse parking camera, John Cooper Works inspired leather steering wheel, etc. among others.
Engine
Powered by a 2-litre, four-cylinder, petrol motor it churns out 192HP alongside a peak torque of 280Nm with TwinPower Turbo Technology. Further, this engine comes mated to a 7-speed Steptronic transmission with paddle shifters for slick shifting. Apart from this, there are multiple drive modes on the special edition hatchback to alter the performance. To be more precise, they are:
- MID: Also the normal mode.
- Sport: For enhanced performance and,
- Green: To save fuel.
Performance & Safety Features
Performance-wise, it can do a 0-100kmph sprint in just 6.7 seconds with an electronically limited top speed of 235kmph. Meanwhile, safety features on the all-new MINI Paddy Hopkirk Edition include dual front airbags, brake assist, crash sensor, ABS and cornering brake control among others.
Further, at the time of launch, Mr.Vikram Pahwa, President, BMW Group India, said, “It is a celebration of the ultimate MINI challenger moment – Paddy Hopkirk’s first Monte Carlo Rally victory in the classic Mini Cooper S.
