vishal Sikka

Infosys MD & CEO, Vishal Sikka has resigned from all his roles at Indian IT giant Infosys. The company announced the same in a statement released early on Friday. The board members were set to meet on 19th to decide about the future course, however, this news has come as a surprise to a lot of people involved in the business circuits of India.

Vishal Sikka has been under criticism by the Infosys founders over his approaches for quite a while now. According to the company statement, UB Pravin Rao has been given the interim responsibility to fill in the shoes of Vishal Sikka, till the time a replacement is decided.

However, despite resigning from his post, Sikka will not be leaving the company. He has been given the post of executive vice-chairman. He held the post of MD & CEO for a little over 3 years.

The announcement of Infosys came as a letter it sent to the stock exchanges and The Indian Wire has a copy of the same.

Since last few months, Infosys has seen a number of senior executives resign. Some of the notable names in the list include hey include Anirban Dey (Global head and chief business officer of Edge products), Yusuf Bashir (MD, Infosys Innovation Fund) and Ritika Suri (executive vice-president).
