With Bhansali, you dont count retakes: Deepika Padukone!

Indian actress Deepika Padukone says that along with the director Sanjay Leela Bhansali you can not count the retakes. Deepika says that however, he has been called as a tough taskmaster on the sets but she believes that after collaborating with him for the three movies she has developed a shorthand along with the director.

Currently, actress Deepika Padukone is gearing up for her upcoming movie title ‘Padmavati‘, which is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The movie features Deepika Padukone in the title role as Rani Padmini, alongside Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor, Jim Sarbh and Aditi Rao Hydari. In the movie, the actress is playing the titular role and she says that before doing the shooting of the scene she has do a lot of rehearsal but she feels that her performance has become more instinctive now.

Moreover, she says that when you are working along with the director Sanjay Leela Bhansali you just can not count the number of takes and the best thing is that you just go with the flow. Even you have to switch off from the things like heavy headgear, costume or it does not matter how difficult or uncomfortable your dupatta is on your head.

During the launch of the 3D trailer, Deepika says that when the camera is on, then she is not bothered what is she doing she gets that much energy and later on she realizes the injuries. Moreover, she said that while shooting for the song ‘Ghoomar’ she wore a heavy lehnga while doing the dance number. She feels that there is a lot of trusts as an actor and director has been built between both of them and that had helped her a lot.

She did her first movie ‘Ram Leela’ with the director Sanjay Leela Bhansali at that she felt like she has to rehearse a lot and she has to prepare for her role as an actor on the sets. Now, she says that she knows very well that what she has to do and she will deliver exactly the way Bhansali wants. But while doing the shooting for the movie she realized that she has to trust him and movie with the flow.

Deepika says that the ‘Padmavati’ is the first movie which made her nervous about her performance. However, she feels that there is something about this movie and she feels that it is not from the heart or her mind it is from the gut. It is something which is coming from a different place and it has been an extremely emotional journey for all of them who are associated with the movie. This movie has been an extremely emotional journey for all of them and especially after the launch of the trailer.

The whole team of the movie did a group hug which is following the overwhelming response to the trailer of the movie. She says that the whole team could not get over with the response of the movie and it is really a proud moment for all of them to present the 3D version of the trailer. Her look form the movie has been a point of discussions on the social media like her unibrow, her heavy jewellery, and costumes but the actor said that she did not mind experimenting with her appearance.

She feels that we all are bound to think in a certain way when it comes in terms of beauty and she is glad that what she did with her unibrow in the movie ‘Padmavati’. Moreover, she says that it is an amount of belief for all of us to take that risk in a sense because that is not how the audience has been conditioned. Some of the people have picked up the unibrow and her skin tone but she feels that the beauty is so much more and for her, she is someone who is hugely inspiring.

The movie ‘Padmavati’ is all set to release on December 1, 2017.
