Her eyes were as expressive as words, her voice was mesmerizing with a distinct southern accent. She was enthralling in any avatar she adorned. She was the reigning queen of Indian Cinema – and she left us too soon.

Late into the night on 24th February, the actress suffered a massive cardiac arrest that took her away from us – forever. It is all still so blur and overwhelming, that only tears and grief can fill the void in all our hearts.

On this dark day for India, we attempt to glance at the amazing life of an actress who was an epitome of success – Sridevi.

Born for the camera, she started acting at the age of four when she starred in the film Thunaivan. It was no looking back for her after the lightening success of Himmatwala in 1983. She soared high and was one of the most well known actresses of her times.

She married producer Boney Kapoor in 1996, the elder brother of Anil Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor. She has two daughters with Boney Kapoor – Jahnvi and Khushi.

When the world was just rejoicing and living the joyful moments of the #AntuMoh wedding through pictures and videos, the news of one of India’s greatest star’s death shook it.

Her film career was such an applauding and appealing one, with 300 films in her bag and more than 30 years of being active in the industry.

After Judaai, she may have quit acting temporarily but only to return much better and prepared. She essayed the role of Sashi in English Vinglish and my, did we love her or did we LOOOOVEEEEE her?

Gauri Shinde’s English Vinglish blew our mind but we didn’t know there was more in store, with MOM.

MOM in 2017, was a thriller packed with so much emotion, passion and cry for revenge, grief, and justice that all our heart trembled as we walked out of the theater – immersed and overwhelmed beyond words.

We don’t have words and a mind to even talk about what a big loss this is!

May her divine soul rest in eternal peace – now and forever.
