Willing to screen 'Padmavati' for anyone after CBFC approval, say film makers!

Indian film director Sanjay Leela Bhansali says that he is willing to screen his upcoming movie ‘Padmavati‘ but only after the CBFC approval. Sanjay says that he is screening the movie to the Central Board of Film Certification as per the procedures and the convention which is followed by the film industry. He says that once the movie gets the green signal from the board after that he does not have any reservations with the screening of the movie just to clear the doubts of some people who are having on being cast of the movie. However, he feels that such practice is without a precedent.

The upcoming Indian period movie ‘Padmavati’ has been produced by the Viacom18 Motion Pictures and they will be going to distribute the movie in India. The movie has embroiled in the controversy that there is some Hindu group and along with that there are political parties which include the Congress and the Bharti Janta Party they claim that the movie distorts the history. They believe that the makers of the movie have wrongly portrayed the queen Rani Padmavati.

However, there are some members of Bharti Janta Party who has demanded that the Sanjay Leela Bhansali should be tried for treason and there are some who has demanded that the CBFC should not certify the movie, while there are others who say that the makers of the movie should postpone the movie’s release date because there are having Gujarat elections and the remaining are those who say that the movie should be shown to the historians before and then it should be given wings to fly. According to the latest reports, the Rajasthan government is planning to set up the committee to watch the movie.

Sanjay says that he is very confident that the CBFC will have the appropriate representation from the necessary quarters and in that historians are included. He says that he is not having any reservations on that count. He totally trusts CBFC’s judgment. When asked the director that when will his movie likely to be certified? He says that the movie is looking at the CBFC to do it soonest because the movie facilitates the planned release on December 1. However, right now he is not having any plans to change the release date.

However, Sanjay says that they have already clarified all the anxieties which they were having about the alleged depiction are unfounded. Even he personally assured in a video that his upcoming movie titled ‘Padmavati’ celebrates the Queen and Rajput valor, dignity and their traditions. The movie also celebrates the classic legend of Padmavati and there is no liberty of the kind alleged has been taken.

Most of the people are having a misperception that the makers have showcased the romantic dream sequence between Rani Padmavati and invader Alauddin Khilji on this Sanjay says that all these claims are incorrect. The distributors in Rajasthan has said to be wary about releasing the movie after the brouhaha.

On this Andhare says that all the distributors are with them and there is nothing in the movie that should cause any worry. They all will very proud to watch the movie once it gets the smooth release. However, director Sanjay Leela Bhansali is aiming for the wide release of the movie after he will be securing the censor certification. Sanjay says that he is having a full faith in the CBFC and on its chairman Prasoon Joshi. He is just being optimistic that they will be able to release the movie on time and he wishes that he will get all the support and love by the people and that will result in the strong business. Sanjay says that he has made the movie with the utmost sincerity and integrity.

On Friday, Chairman of the Central Board of the Certification, Prasoon Joshi came out in support of the director Sanjay Leela Bhansali by saying that the board respected him as an individual and as an artist. The movie ‘Padmavati’ has been directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and jointly produced by Bhansali and Viacom 18 Motion Pictures. The movie features Deepika Padukone in the title role as Rani Padmini, alongside Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor, Jim Sarbh and Aditi Rao Hydari. The movie ‘Padmavati’ is all set to release on December 1, 2017.
