Director Apoorva Lakhia‘s upcoming movie ‘Haseena Parkar‘ will be releasing on September 22. The movie which is based on the life of Haseena (Dawood’s sister). The film features Shraddha Kapoor in the lead role, her real life brother Siddhanth Kapoor will be seen portraying the role of Dawood Ibrahim, and Ankur Bhatia will be playing the role of Haseena’s husband.
Earlier the movie was set to release on July 14, but later the dates were pushed to August 18 just to avoid the clash at the Box office. Now, the makers are out with a new release date. When asked by the director about the film’s release being postponed again. Apoorva said, “People can write what they want as long as we are coming in the news. We are coming to theaters on the 22nd of September and we never said anything otherwise. We are really looking forward to it and today we start the promotions for the film.”
About the movie, Apoorva said that the trailer of his upcoming movie ‘Haseena Parkar’ seems to be a very violent and action oriented story, but it is not. He says, “From the trailer, it seems like a very violent and action oriented film but that is not the case, Haseena was married to her elder brother’s best friend Ibrahim who not only ran a restaurant but in his free time used to work as a stunt man in Bollywood. Apoorva added, “They were madly in love and she was married at a very young age. She had a beautiful marriage and she lost her husband at a young age. This song is by Sachin and Jigar and we thought this would be an ideal song to show the world a softer side of Haseena Parkar because when she was young she was very romantic but her circumstances were what got her where she reached.”
In the movie, Shraddha will be seen playing a title role along with her real life brother Siddhanth Kapoor. The movie will show Haseena’s life from 17 to 40 years old.
About the movie, Shraddha said she would not generalize their roles as villains. She said, “I would not generalize our characters because that will be putting a judgment and a point of view, so we are completely portraying this as a character and it’s entirely up to the audience to decide. We are showing a wide perspective so that people can judge based on the film.”
Talking about the movie ‘Haseena Parkar’, the movie will revolve around the life of Haseena as she was living a normal family life before her husband was gunned down by men from Arun Gawli’s gang. This incident prompted her to step up and be a part of the notorious ‘D-Company’ and eventually become the Godmother of Nagpada. The movie is based on a true story on the life and times of the sister of India’s Most Wanted Man Dawood Ibrahim. The film’s tagline is, “80 cases registered yet she appeared in the court only once”, and this power permeates the teaser too.
“Haseena Parkar” will be scheduled to release on September 22.
