Sridevi dropped off the role of Sivagami in the Baahubali movie franchise after the makers rejected her demand of a massive 6 crores to play the part, which the makers allegedly couldn’t afford. Later on it was eventually portrayed by Ramya Krishna.
SS Rajamouli had earlier said in an interview that Baahubali team was lucky that Sridevi rejected the role of Sivagami. Rajamouli claimed that Sridevi had thrown an awful lot of starry tantrums prior to dropping the film. On this Sridevi expressed her shock by saying “I was shocked and hurt by his interview. Rajamouli is a calm and dignified person. I was very happy to (have got a chance to) work with him. But, the way he spoke about the issue made me feel very sad.” She further added,”People in the industry would have sent me packing if I was like that. But, when you hear such things about yourself, you really get hurt. I don’t know if the producer wrongly told Rajamouli that I made all these demands or there could have been some miscommunication. I think it is not in good taste to speak on a public platform like this.”
Sridevi is currently busy with the promotions of her upcoming film “MOM”, featuring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Akshay Khanna. The mom is all set to release it on July 7.
