Mumbai: Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra shared the teaser and poster of her much-awaited upcoming film The Girl on the Train. Netflix has acquired Reliance Entertainment’s The Girl on the Train and will premiere next month on February 26.

Parineeti took to her microblogging site Twitter and shared the teaser with her fans. She wrote, “THE GIRL ON THE TRAIN• ???????? let’s DO THIS! 26th Feb, only on Netflix. #TGOTT.”

The film is directed by Ribhu Dasgupta, who previously helmed Netflix’s original “Bard of Blood,” which was produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies.

The film also stars Kriti Kulhari, Aditi Rao Haydari, Avinash Tiwari, and British actor Sammy Jonas Heaney in pivotal roles.

The film is based on British author Paula Hawkins’ 2015 debut novel of the same name and Netflix’s 2016 Hollywood version starring Emily Blunt and directed by Tate Taylor.

In the film, Parineeti is playing the role of an alcoholic divorcee who gets embroiled in a missing person’s investigation. The film was announced on 24 April 2019 by Chopra on social media. In early May 2019 shooting schedule of the film was announced. The first schedule was planned in late July in England.

In a statement, Chopra felt that it was a new role, a contrast to her personality, and said, “I am super excited to be shooting this film because this is a role that I have never experienced before, read before and I think the audience has never experienced this kind of acting piece from me.”
