ZTE-owned smartphone brand Nubia has released Red Magic 6R gaming smartphone. Nubia had earlier released its flagship gaming device Red Magic 6 Series- Red Magic 6 and Red Magic 6 Pro. The latest offering from Nubia is powered by Snapdragon 888 SoC and comes with advanced cooling systems for thermal management. It has a quad-camera setup at the rear.
Nubia Red Magic 6R Specifications
Red Magic 6R draws power from premium octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G SoC, coupled with Adreno 660 GPU. The processor is backed by up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. The smartphone runs on Android 11 out-of-the-box with Red Magic OS 4.0 on top.
As far as the display is concerned, the device flaunts a 6.67-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels and a super-fast 144Hz adaptive refresh rate. The display has an aspect ratio of 20:9, a touch sampling rate of 360Hz, a peak brightness of 770nits, and 10-bit colors. It carries a tiny center-aligned punch-hole for the front camera and an in-display fingerprint scanner is built into the display.
Coming to the optics, the phone sports a quad-camera setup at the rear with a 64MP primary Sony IMX682 sensor with an f/1.8 lens, an 8MP sensor for ultra-wide-angle shots, a 5MP sensor for macro shots, and a 2MP sensor for depth sensing. Upfront, an 8MP selfie snapper is placed under the punch-hole.
Red Magic 6R comes with a 3D cooling system that includes graphene, VC liquid cooling, a thermal gel, superconducting thermal gel, and a metallic mid-frame for heat management. This allows users for extensive hours of gaming. The phone also features shoulder buttons with a response rate of 8.3mms and a 400Hz touch sampling rate.
The mobile phone packs a 4,200mAh battery with 55W fast charging support. It ships with DTS:X Ultra sound support. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, and a USB Type-C port for charging. It weighs 186 grams.
Nubia Red Magic 6R Price
Red Magic 6R is offered in two color schemes- Phantom Black and Streamer Silver. It costs CNY 2,999 (Rs. 34,100) for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage configuration, CNY 3,299 (Rs. 37,500) for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant, the 12GB RAM + 128GB storage option is priced at CNY 3,599 (Rs. 40,900) and top-of-the-line 12GB RAM + 256GB storage model comes with a price tag of CNY 3,899 (Rs. 44,400).
The phone is currently up for pre-orders in China and will be available from June 1 for buying. Nubia has not revealed any information regarding the international debut of the smartphone.

Considering the price range and specifications, the phone will compete with Vivo iQoo 7 Legend Edition, which draws power from Snapdragon 888 5G SoC and features a 120Hz AMOLED display, a 48MP triple-camera setup, and a 4,000mAh battery with fast charging, priced at Rs. 43,990 for the 12GB RAM model.
