Anand Pal Singh Ravana

The government and administration might have forced the cremation of Anand Pal Singh on Thursday, however, the movement started to demand Justice in his case does not seem to stop. The dictatorial behaviour by the government has made Rajputs, even more, angrier and the outfits representing Rajputs in the state have called for an even bigger movement on July 22nd.

On Thursday, in suspicious turn of events, the government ordered a forced cremation of Anand Pal Singh. Anand Pal Singh’s body was preserved for over 19 days demanding justice in his encounter. The increased pressure on government bodies made them go in the dictatorial mode and with the help of police, it made sure that there were no males left in the village on the day of his cremation. The police, then took his body to complete the final rights, locking his family in a room.

Leaders of Rajput organisations were arrested. According to an estimate, there are over 211 Rajputs arrested from the protests in various parts of the state.

Leaders of the Rajput community have appealed the members to gather in large numbers to protest against the government. According to an estimate, over 5 lakh people are expected to gather in Jaipur on next Saturday. Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi (Shekhawat) has shared a series of Facebook posts appealing the community to support the cause and put pressure on the government. The community is still firm on its demands including a CBI inquiry of the encounter, taking back the charges imposed on Anand Pal Singh’s daughter Chinu and to return their seized properties.

In the wake of the upcoming protest, the government has already started to make its strategy. The goal in front of the government is just one, to suppress the movement before it gets any challenging for the government.
