Virat Kohli

Indian captain Virat Kohli is on his way to smash records. His last hundred against West Indies in the 5th ODI has brought him up to the third place in the list of most hundreds in ODI cricket. This was his 28th ODI hundred and 18th hundred while chasing.

Kohli has gone past Sachin’s record of highest centuries while chasing. Sachin had  17 centuries while Kohli is now on 18 hundred. It took Sachin 232 innings to do so, while Kohli did it in 102 innings.

Along with this, Kohli has now the third highest number of hundreds in ODI cricket. He is only behind Ricky Ponting by two centuries and Sachin Tendulkar who tops the list with 49 hundred. Also, Kohli is now equal to the former Sri Lankan cricketer, Sanath Jayasuriya. Virat Kohli has achieved this milestone 181 innings.

Earlier, Virat Kohli also broke the record for the fastest cricketer to reach 8000 ODI runs. The India skipper took seven innings less than South African batsman, AB de Villiers to reach the milestone.

In the meantime, India won the series by 3-1 and will now play a T20 match with West Indies to end the tour.
