Apple hasn’t upgraded the Apple Mac mini (the desktop class CPU from Apple) in years. When the question regarding the same was asked, here is the official comments from the Apple CEO Tim Cook.

When the micro-blogging site enquired about the Mac mini via email, here is an official reply from Tim himself.

“I’m glad you love Mac Mini. We love it too. Our customers have found so many creative and interesting uses for Mac Mini. While it is not time to share any details, we do plan for Mac Mini to be an important part of our product line going forward.”

Even the Apple’s marketing chief said almost the same about the Mac mini lineup:

“On that, I’ll say the Mac Mini is an important product in our lineup and we weren’t bringing it up because it’s more of a mix of consumer with some pro use. … The Mac Mini remains a product in our lineup, but nothing more to say about it today,”

In Indian currently, there are three Apple Mac mini variants that are officially available. The entry-level variant is priced at INR 40,000 that offers 1.4 GHz Intel Core i5 dual-core SoC, paired with 4 GB LPDDR3 RAM and 500 GB Hard disk. The next variant is priced at INR 57,700 which packs a Core i5 processor with 2.6 GHz clock speed, paired with 8 GB LPDDR3 RAM and 1 TB hard disk. Finally, the high-end model features 2.8 GHz Core i5 SoC with 8 GB LPDDR3 RAM along with 1 TB fusion drive, which retails for INR 82,100.

All three models are capable of running latest Mac OS High Siera update with all the features like Siri. However, due to the HHD or Fusion drive, these devices will not be upgraded to the APFS (Apple File system).
