HMD has silently launched Nokia 3310 4G variant in China today
The much awaited 4G version of Nokia 3310 has been officially launched in China, weeks after receiving TENAA certification. As the name suggests, this phone will be able to work on 4G bandwidth which is a major update when compared to its previous version. HMD has joined hands in collaboration with China Mobile to make Nokia 3310 4G available in the country.
Now, coming to the specs, this upgraded phone has WiFi and Mobile HotSpot creation support. Apart from the fundamental changes in connectivity, the device will come with mild updates to its operating system and storage capacity. It boasts a 2.4-inch 320×240 display and runs on Yun operating system, which is a forked android version built by China’s Alibaba group. This operating system resembles Android and is expected to be a stark departure from the Series 30 operating system found on the 2G version of the phone. It comes with a VoLTE support-which has grown to be an essential feature in phones sold in India. It comes with 512 MB of internal storage and a Micro SD card slot that supports 64 GB expansion.
The device has only been launched in China for now and is expected to be unveiled to the rest of the world during the Mobile World Congress 2018. The pricing of the device will also be unveiled during the mega event, going to be held in Spain.
The device features a 1200 mAH battery, which the company claims will give a standby time of 12 days on 4G connectivity. With 2G, the device’s battery standby time will increase to 15 days,just like old Nokia phones. The rear facing camera gets an LED flash and boasts a 2 MP lens.
The Nokia 3310 4G also comes with basic connectivity options like Bluetooth 4.0., Micro USB port, WLAN 802.11 b/g/n and even FM radio. The device keeps the 3.5mm headphone jack and features an Mp3 player as well.
