Nokia India has launched an improved Nokia 5 in the country. Originally, the Nokia 5 featured 2 GB RAM for INR 12,499, however, now the company has launched a new Nokia 5 variant with an extra gig of RAM for additional ₹1000 price tag. Except for this upgrade, the remaining specifications are intact as the original model.

Initially, for the first week, the device will be available exclusively on Flipkart, after a week, the model will be made available across the major offline retailers in India. If you are fond of the Nokia 8’s flagship design, but cannot afford it, then this device offers similar tech specifications at a much lower price tag.

The device offers full metal unibody metal construction using 6000 series Aluminium and, as far as the in-hand feel goes, this is one of the best looking Android smartphones in the market with it’s all premium design and build quality. So, let’s look at the actual tech specifications of the same.

The Nokia 5 features a 5.2-inch 720p IPS LCD screen, with oleophobic smudge proof coating on the top. The display is protected by 2.5 D curved tempered glass manufactured by Corning Gorilla. The device runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 Octa-core SoC, now paired with 3 GB LPDDR3 RAM and 16 GB onboard storage with a hybrid SIM slot (two SIM cards or a SIM and an SD card).

With respect to connectivity, the device supports 2G, 3G, and 4G LTE with VoLte capability out of the box. It also supports WiFi, WiFi Hotspot and Bluetooth 4.2. Coming to the camera capability, the device offers a 13 MP rear-facing camera with F/2.0 aperture and PDAF with 1080p video recording capability with an 8 MP selfie shooter with 720p video recording capability.

In terms of operating system, the device offers Android Nougat 7.1.2 with a promised update to Android Oreo in the near future. Everything on a phone is backed by 3000 mAh Li-ion battery with normal charging capability.

If you are looking for a mid-tier Android smartphone spend an extra 500 and go with the Nokia 6, which offers bigger battery and high-resolution display compared to the Nokia 5.
